Why are games for PSP in US that expensive??? - PSP-Forum.com

Yamauchi sad in Tokyo:"There's basically two ways of making games for the PSP. One way is to develop an original new game, which in general will be limited in its content since the price of PSP games aren't going to be too high, meaning the game's development budget will also be limited.

So why i see at EB games for the same price like PC games?$ 49.99 for game which is gona be somehow"scaled down"like GT4 or FIFA 05 w/o carier mode.Are they trying to steal money from us?

I think sony stated somewhere along the lines games would be priced at $39.99 and $49.99 at the game publisher's discretion but I don't remember where I saw the information. :lol:
What the game publishers want in my pov is maximum profit with minimum work :mrgreen: Porting a game and selling it at "standard pricing" would allow it to make maximum money. But of course it all boils down to the marketing and appeal to users. Nobody is forcing you to buy it except the subliminal messages the advertisement and trailers feed you ^^. What you could do is wait several months and wait for a price drop.

Fact is, we'll pay it... dude, shortly after PSP's December 12th release date in Japan, it was selling for $800-$900 on eBay... 900 bones for a PSP! :shock: My copy is Ridge Racers cost $62 with shipping... I cant wait for the american games, its people like me who will pay that, that are the reason its $50. :lol: I'm very money concious, and I seldom splurge, and the joy of playing a fully 3D Grand Theft Auto is gonna be worth $50 to me. :P

Why don't Japanese console and game makers release consoles and games for the same price that they do in Japan? One word: Profit.

Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix, a portable port of my Gamecube THUG 2 with more boards, on a sleek handheld is SO worth my money. :shock:
