Default Sims 2

Anyone have this? I spent hours playing it last night and I don't think I am making any progress. I spend more time running to pee or entertain the sim than anything. Am I supposed to walk out of the little neighborhood to do something? I am confused. Oddly enough, I bought Sims 2 Pets thinking I could play it with my daughters, but inside it was Sims 2. I just figured I'd keep it and play, but now I am wondering if it was worth driving back to the store to exchange. My first impression...stupid. Maybe I need to give it a chance, but I am frustrated.

Now if the sim had a sword, I'd know what to do....

I just find the whole "urgency" thing annoying. Come on, having to urinate and entertain yourself? My Sim gets the little "bored" icon and I never know how to entertain her.

I think I need to be brave and wander more in that world.

Incredibly, I continued playing the game and got hooked. I played on through to the end...except the final confrontation with Dr. Dominion. That final door with the keypad won't open (the one inside the secret sublevel past the "Dude in Black"). The keypad won't activate either. I thought I had a unmet goal, but they are all full except on where to use the password Or4ng4t4n. What am I doing wrong. Sanity is full. Urgencies met. Money is fine. So why can't I get into that last portion? Anyone have any ideas? The online walkthroughs are cryptic at this point.

Bought this game for my girlfriend, the loading times are crazy and it crashed every now and then...the gameplay is the same throughout the whole game...in my eyes its a terrible game, but kept her amused for a week or so...its like the sims / lame RPG story line...

I don't see keeping the game. I'll trade in for something new-to-me. I still haven't figured out how to get the door to open for the final portion. At this point, I've lost interest. It doesn't mean all that much...

And yeah, the load times are really terrible.
