Depends on what exactly you're looking for...I'll give some examples but I know there's a guy with a link to a site thats way more informative then me...do some searching and you'll find it here...anyway
Jeanne D'arc - awesome strategy rpg, I've heard a lot of people say its not as in depth as its predecessors and I seriously beg to differ, the battle system has depth to it especially end game. If you're into thinking rpgs pick this one up for its end game play. -also see FFT - Equally great game, remake of the psone game with extra stuff like better cut scenes, a couple new characters and classes and tons of mind racking gameplay. Pick this one for its serious complexity...don't be scared it eases you into it a bit. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 - I'd say mhf1 but I have yet to play it...its supposedly rare (according to gamestop...liars) anyway this is more of an action rpg with no real ending. 300+ hours tons of fun monsters to fight and loads of equipment that can be specialized to suit your needs. Lots of stuff to do but not really story driven... good times tho I loved it. Wild Arms (psone store or homebrew only but its like 6 bucks come on) PSone game that clings to the classic turn based fighting system, great story and loads of fun. 50 hours ish with lots to do. And if your a FF geek (like me) I'd say hang tough for 2 more months for Crisis Core. I'm currently playing the Jap version and loving it. Can't read a lick of it but I've got a translation guide and an item/materia list so I'm aight. Anyway, great game, breathtaking movies and gameplay a wonderful story and an interesting battle system. There are tons of others some solid imports of stuff like BOF3 and a couple good tales games not to mention the whole homebrew world (that I know nothing about...cry) Good luck hope this helped somewhat... |

thats a good question..... I would have to say Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony, or maybe, Warriors of the Lost Empire. I also like the Untold Legends Series though, the first one I think was way better than the second one, but the menu layout was cooler in the second one.

Well, they have Final Fantasy I and II out on the PSP, so that's an option for Final Fantasy. I wouldn't call Monster Hunter an RPG. Not by any means.
I liked Brave Story a lot though. Great game, good story, fun turn based fights, and awesome graphics. Can't go wrong! |

playing brave story at the mo, its ok a for RPG i guess, i hear its better if you follow the series / movie, the battle system imo is basic, a range of attacks, special attacks and team attacks, boss battles are easily won, maybe a good game for firstcommers to RPG's??
monster hunter freedom, my GF bought me that on valentines day, i played it that day and thought...wow this is crap, then a few months down the line played it again, didnt put it down for a good solid 6 weeks! whats even better, get 3 buddies, and link up to xlink kai and play 4 player co-op over the net! hours of fun and good co-op tactical fun, one of you setting traps whislt other shoots a tranq dart from bow with 2 others running up and beating the crap out a wyvern..good days final fantasy tactics and jean darc, ultimate in RPG stratergy, indepth and time consuming, you really need to be into that type of RPG (hardcore stratergy) to enjoy it, although i did play FFT for a few hours and was starting to enjoy it... there are tons out there though, try breath of fire 3, is a classic, or maybe homebrew gba golden sun? (can i say that?)
