Right, you need to place the CONTENTS of the MS_ROOT folder onto your memory card.
In the MS_ROOT folder is a folder called PSP, this is the folder you need to copy, NOT MS_ROOT. The pc will most likely say if you want to overwrite the files, click yes, it wont overwrite anything. EDIT: If you have a lumines save data on your psp then you have got the folders in the correct order. Kev ![]()

Ive done all this already, but ive re-extracted the CONTENTS (lol) of 'MS_ROOT' to the memory stick, which basically spits out the folder 'PSP' in the root of the MS- just to make sure.
Im getting the same result Is running the downgrader (which I have no idea about) the problem here? Like i said, i can't see any folder named mp_root in any of the archives ive downloaded. Thanks Alex Last edited by High Roller; 11-20-2007 at 10:30 PM. |

Yes, under the game menu, save data is available. two lumines saves are there. one each for level 2 and level 4 parental control respectively.
ps. u mentioned mp_root in a previous post, i take it that was a typo thanks alex do you think a format of the memory stick and starting again would be a good idea? |

The disk date is 2005, i dont know when the firmwares were released, but a game i bought only a few months ago contained the evil 2.72 firmware i had to upgrade from to get to 3.50 so id imagine it doesnt contain the 3.51
Ill do the format and reinstall everything on the 'clean' MS with a better idea of what im doing now... ill keep posted |

WELL DONE
Look here: Stylemo » Blog Archive » Install 3.71 M33 on Your PSP in 4 Easy Steps Thats for 3.71 M33, and is clear instructions as i used it to upgrade mine. Yeah custom firmwares can be changed back to 1.50 and if a brick occurs it can be recovered. But there would be no need to go back to 1.50, the only restriction to CF is that it wont allow you to upgrade back to original sony firmwares, this is so noobz dont make that mistake, it can be done if you go back to 1.50, but why would you want to. Welcome to the world of homebrew. Kev ![]()

i must thank you for putting up with me kev!
problem was just a lot of terms, abbreviations, background info, internal mechanisms of the structure of a PSP. what works. what doesnt. compatibilty issues. sonys evil- the 'Mother, who beats us to make us stronger' thing. the provider and the pushy parent, forcing us to choose our path in life and we give them two fingers "U will go to medical school and have a degree!" "erm no, i wanna be a hippy " - if you get my driftIf youre wondering why im talking absolute manure. i was up all last night, absorbing as much as i could from the net. 24hrs later. half a jar of coffee. I found Wiki fairly helpful, as well as QJ net (but everybody know about that probably) some of the websites have been looking to 'hack' (srtong word i think) 'utilise' the PSP, use a language completely alien, and thats difficult to understand for anybody who just happens to stumble across the homebrew community- as I did. well thanks for the help. no doubt ill have few more questions, as my head is about to explode with all ive just read. but i can spread the love a bit now i know a bit more about the world of homebrew. and a 'member' :P of the community now i have a PSP worthy of using and with less scummy Sony Software in it. YAAAAAAAY!It has been said a few times, in no uncertain terms- ive bought the hardware, it should be my choice what i play on it or do on it, so long as i break no laws. Sony could increase the popularity of its PSP system and develop future systems if they teamed up with the coders, or at least took heed of what they have a achieved- Rather than wage a war. Homebrew have the people at the heart. Sony want to tear it apart. |

What you have to consider is that sony would loose more money freely allowing homebrew because of the loss of game sales because everyone id just downloading the games.
So what they are doing is right in my books, stops developers from dropping the psp all together leading to no games at all. Kev ![]()
