Default Should I get the old PSP or the new PSP?

All I'm interested in is homebrew, watching movies while on the go (not using it on the TV), and putting games on the memory stick. So should I get the old PSP, since it costs less (I just got a job, and don't have a lot of money).

If you want homebrew, you will need the old PSP with 1.5 firmware.

Is there a chance that the newer one will be able to get hacked? I also heard it will come out in September/October anyways, and I will have enough money before then for the old PSP...

Also, is 2GB enough if all I plan on putting on the memory stick at one given time is:

1 game
1 movie
100 songs
Some pictures

?

The 'game' part of your question can't be talked about on this forum. However 2GB of storage is plenty of space for say 2 movies and 100 songs.

I'd get a 4 gig like Kev was saying. If you're in the US, checkout newegg. They're really cheap and 100% reliable.

About the new PSP, I'm about 90% sure that both the new and the old are $170, and I'd get the old PSP. The new PSP WILL get cracked, but the question that nobody knows the answer to is when? Hopefully it won't be too long after it's released. When it does get cracked, I'm turning my PSP in and getting one of the new ones. Since there isn't going to be a price drop for the old PSP, that'd be awesome if I could still get $120 for trading it in.

If you only are getting it for stuff on the go, and homebrew, I would get the old version. I already have one, but I'm considering if I want to get the new one or not... That video out looks pretty sweet.

Yeah it does, I just hope that when homebrew is available on it that it can use the video out aswell, that'd be cool and I can't see why it wouldn't...

Well mate, it seems like you won't have a choice... Shops will only sell the new PSP when it is out, unless you buy it from a local /imports and exports shop.
