Hi! I'm new around here...

Default help required

picked up my ps3 today and tried linking my psp to it but it states that i need to update the software on my psp first how do i go about doing that. im not intending to get any new umds in the next couple of weeks so what are my other options. cheers sorry if its a stupid question

No problem. Go to www.playstation.com . Click on your country. After the page loads, click on the PSP button. Look around for Media Downloads type button and click that. it will load another page, in which look for System Update in yellow (I think). Download that, slap it on your memory stick, and upgrade away even though I wouldn't recommend it.

You could update to custom firmware, then you have homebrew and connectivity to the ps3.

If you want that then i can guide you through it.

Yeah, with the new 1.6 PS3 Firmware update, you need 3.10/3.11 inorder to use remote play, you can either get a custom firmware(psp-hacks.com) or you can update to sony's firmware. Both the same thing, but with a custom firmware, you can use homebrew.
