Default PSP Version 1.5

My friend is going to sell me his PSP and it has version 1.5. He says its pretty rare to find one with that version. I know I can upgrade it if I want. What would people here do with it. Does upgrading allow me to do more stuff or is this a vintage PSP and I should keep it the way it is with Firmware 1.5? thanks, Mack

With v1.5, you can do a lot of things to your PSP (homebrew). You can also update it to a custom firmware. It may sound complicated, but you'll learn all about it. Do yourself a favor and read the stickies in the Homebrew section of the forum. It'll explain a lot.

Btw, how much is he going to sell it to you for?

1.5s aren't really rare anymore, every firmware except for 2 can be downgraded to 1.5. Like Weezer said, you can use Custom Firmwares to have all the advantages of 1.5 and the newest Firmware.
