Default HELP!

Before I start the hassle of takin the PSP back, it might be a simple thing that needs fixing. Whenever I try and connect to wi-fi, the PSP says the WLAN switch is turned off, even though it's not! Is it broken? I'm not going to take it apart as I haven't had the PSP a year yet so it should still be under warranty.

might be the internal connection of the switch. The actual switch is on but it may not be catching inside.
If it is still under warranty and you send it to sony then you'll be getting a 2.80 PSP back. It depends on weather you use homebrew or not I guess

i updated to 2.81 anyways, do I send the PSP straight to Sony or is it best to take it back to HMV (where I got it from)?

If to sony what's their address, what do I need to send them etc.?

Yea, the store that you got it from won't help you one bit...(atleast that's the way they are around here.. :? )

I'm sorry if this offends you in anyway but, are you sure you're talking about the switch on the left? I didn't know where the switch was for a while after I got mine...I always thought the WLAN switch was to lock the Memory Stick slot door...

well of course I know which switch it is! I've had the bugger for almost a year now and have used Wifi quite a bit.
I leave my PSP in my mates house for one night while his little brother plays on it and the next day, the switch is f*****, NOT HAPPY!

Hmmm...that sucks!

If the warentee is up, I guess the only thing you can do is to open it up yourself...or atleast take it to someone you can trust.

if you want sony to fix it, you are also going to need the original recipt or they will not take it... so you'll need to find that...

the warranty isn't up, i cant find the receipt and I doubt I'd be able to find any warranty card, whats my chances? I mean I have registered my PSP on yourpsp.com, maybe that would help me? I dunno.

or should I just open her up and have a look whats wrong?

I had a similar situation where I had a PSP with the warranty not up, but the person who bought it had lost the receipt. It took a while but we were able to go back to the store (Walmart) and get a copy of the reciept. It was a computer print-out, not a real receipt, but it was good enough for Sony.

So you can try to get a replacement receipt. If you paid with a debit/credit card, then you can probably get one from the store, and if the store can't do it, then I think your bank statement will do.
