I have just brought a new laser for my psp as my psp stoped reading my umd's. I payed £18 for it of ebay. If i would of sent it of to get it repaired it would of cost me about 3 times as much. Im now waiting for it to arrive so I Can fit it but am terrible at repairs and stuff like that. It should come with instructions but ill still probally brake something else in my psp. Im just wondering if anyone else had fitted a laser in there psp and how difficult is it?

I have had a look for you to no luck. I have taken my ps2 controller apart many a times (much less complex than psp) but from my experience have bowls or plastic bags to put screws etc in as they get lost so easily.
I think you can do it, take your time, dont guess anything, always continue knowing what to do because you may break more than the new laser you put in. |

okay I've taken 2 PSPs apart, broke them both, so read and remember this so you don't break yours.
Some things I can advise are to work on a wooden table with nothing in the area you're working with in a brightish area (so you see everything and there's little chance of static) bring a bowl to put the screws in, remeber exactly where they go (most are the same size, but if you get some wrong, you'll probobly break your PSP) DO NOT over tighten the screws, and last but probobly the most important TAKE YOUR TIME. DO NOT rush through it. If you follow all that at read some tutorials you will be fine. |

Your making me scared now of braking my psp
 It says that it takes an hour to install which is a long time so i'll just try and take my time. If it goes well i would of saved alot of money which ill spend on my psp or going towards my ps3 fund. |
