Default Going wirless

Hi all im about to get a psp next monday. I am really interested in having wireless internet in my home so i can access the internet on my psp. I am having troubles trying to make up my mind between buying a router or a access point . I am a bit confused on what to buy as this is my first time going wireless. Any help would be great.

A router just creates an access point. If you go to any store with electronics in it, you should be able to find a good router. Just compare the prices and speeds, and you should end up fine.

Note: Go for a Wireless G router

That's fine...I like answering people's questions. No need to apologize

The two most popular routers out there are B and G routers. B routers run at 11mbps and G routers run at 54mbps. So basically the G is just faster.

HOWEVER: If you are only going to use the router to access the internet with your PSP. Just get the B router because that's the max PSP can run on. But if are going to use a computer and stuff too to get on the internet, get the G router.

isn't there a new signal out? i think its called n or something, anyway it has around 4 times the signal strength which means less lag coming from your end . thtas what i would get.

But if he is only going to use it for his PSP, there is no sense in spending all that money, when the PSP only runs at 11mbps (which is still pretty fast...especially on the PSP)

dirtbikr6288 is right.
There is no point going above a wireless G router.
If you are only going to use wireless with your PSP then a wireless B router will be cheaper and will do all you need.
Even if you use a laptop as well, unless your internet connection is above 11mb the you wouldn't notice that much difference between a B and a G.

IF you get a wireless G router, just make sure it's configured to run in B/G "mixed mode". Then the PSP will work
