Most people will probably vote the value pack, since this is a PSP forum. And what new PSP are you talking about?

Don't hold your breath for a "new" PSP to come out any time soon. SONY is busy enough with releasing PS3 and the 3.00 update. I think they will just keep making bigger and better firmware updates and add-ons instead of making a whole new PSP. But I voted the PSP Value Pack. There are better choices than the Value Pack though.

I'd say get a refurb PSP if you're into homebrew (make sure it's a 1.5) or a brand new PSP if you're not. Either way, I'd go with the PSP, it was a few years before the released the new Playstations, PS1 came out in '95 I think, than PS2 came out in about 2001, and than PS3 will come out November 17th 2006 for USA, so we still have at least a year according to those times. Correct me if I'm wrong about the release years.

The main thing about the PSP that I don't like are the sony locks, so that you just can't play homebrew games or put different software on it.
Thats why I will probably just get a pda style smartphone which are basically little mini PCs

if u buy a psp soon i dont think u'll hav 2 worry about all th sony secuirity. i think u might get maybe a 2.7 or somethin lyk that. theres pleny of homebrew that. not as much as 1.5, but a decent amount. imo if u wate 4 maybe a month i think 2.7 will hav caught up w/ 1.5 n e way.

also, there's a piece of homebrew, from my understanding of it, that lets 2.71 emulate 1.5, kinda like a reverse Devhook.
