Default Memory card

i have read a post on this forum regarding memory cards but need something clarifying. In simple terms memory stick duo is the older version while the memory stick pro duo is the newer faster version.

Which card does the PSP take? My nephew has a value pack version which came with a memory stick duo 32mb. Talking to a guy at a games shop he tells me the psp only takes memory stick pro duo. My guess is it takes both, can someone clarify?

if used with PSP is there any noticeable difference in speed between the two cards, the duo and pro duo?

where can i get a cheap one in UK. not keen to buy from ebay.

thanks in advance

Yea, 16MB should do...as long as he isn't trying to save music and stuff like that (he'd be able to fit about 4 songs on there). If he is just using it for game saves...that's plenty of space...

Yeah but, I think eventually he might want to do some more stuff with his PSP, especially after his friends let him know what he can do. Maybe you should go with a 512 chip which is still fairly cheap, yet will give him possibilities for expanded use.

512, there overpriced these days, you get much more band for your buck with a 1 gig or a 2 gig depending on where your shoping.

OK, either way I think 16mb is way too small. and does the PSP work with duo? I thought it was only pro duo. Anyway, good luck.

Yep...it's just the "DUO" part that matters...

Like I said...16MB is fine for your son. If he wants to go bigger, I think 2GB is his best bet.
