The "Pro" part just means it is over 256 or 512mb. It's the same thing though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "Pro" actually just means it transfers data back and forth faster.

Dude, 10 AUD equals about 7 USD or about 5 pounds... :? I highly doubt you got a memory stick for that price...How much memory was it?

Dude, you are probably right. I just remember seeing somebody say it was the memory thing... I have no idea really though.

Pro just means that it conforms to the latest memory stick specification. The old mem sticks couldn't make it to a gig due to the way you accessed the data.
Duo is the size

pro = newer stick capable of large capacities.
duo = half size memory stick to fit smaller devices (the original format it HUGE)

so "pro duo" means large capacity, small physical size.

My old SE P800 phone used memory stick duo, not pro duo. This meant I couldn't get sticks larger than 128MBs (I think). If you my 1gb pro duo into the P800 it won't work. Put my P800s 128mb duo into the PSP and it will work...
