Avoiding the $90 Dollar PSP Exchange - PSP-Forum.com

I called up the SCEA help line and because I got my PSP as a gift and because I and the person who gave it to me no longer has the receipt, it's outside of warranty, meaning a $90 replacement charge. My problem is that when I turn on the PSP, only the LED indicator for the power goes on. It goes green but nothing else happens. I can't hear it trying to load a UMD, the screen doesn't (and when system buttons are pushed the screen doesn't light up), and when pushing up the volume, I can't hear anything suggesting that the problem isn't only the screen but is the main system. Any suggestion. I'd be willing to do a lot to avoid paying $90. Thanks.

well, start by saying exactly what you have done with it, how you have used it etc.

then I think some smart person will help you

i had a similar problem i turn my psp on (wich i couldn turn OFF anymore)no sound no picture no nothing!MY only choice was to send it in.

yup, 90% sure it's bricked. you, like lanape, have no choice but to send it in.
