Default Wi-Fi Worldwide?

Hi I'm sorry in advance if this post is in the wrong section or if its already answered (i couldnt find it) I know how particlar peeps are about there boards and dont want to get get shouted at. But I am a NOOB so be gentle with me please.....

I'm going to China and Hong Kong in October and both hostels I'm staying at have Wi-Fi. Does this mean that I can use my psp to connect to the internet? I could use e-messenger to talk to hubby and kids then instead of cueing behind a load of students before geting online useing a public pc lol (Im not a student btw I turned 30 this year, quit smoking, became a cheerleader TRUE and decided to travel on my own (with mate) before i get too old or boring to do so!)

I connect fine in my house using my belkin router.

Thanks Guy and gals

** now you have my life history as well as my question heres my PSP stuff - Firmware 2.6 - EBOOT - Grand Theft Auto LCS - GBA/SNES/DGEN/N64 Emulators - Some Homebrew - Transformers Movie UMD - Day after tommorow UMD - Lemmings UMD - and a prayer everynight for a hack to creat a ISO reader for 2.6 **

just in case you was refering to downloading full retail PSP games and putting them on the memory card, then im afraid we are not allowed to talk about them.

and to answer your question, i dont know about e-messenger on psp, i havent heard of it but correct me if im wrong, but surf the net and send emails will be fine, but no E-Baying im afraid. This can be done as long as the hostile's WiFi is free, and not WEP encrypted, if it is go and ask for the code, but they may charge you for it.
