Default will the US Locationfree base work with PAL for UK

People.
I am interested in buying a Location free base for my PSP.
The uk price is a mind blowing £350 Approx $600 us. That sucks.
The same product in the US is $350 and less then $200 on ebay. To us Brits buying in the US makes it very cheap...
The main question is has Sony made the US Base station NTSC only just to **** every one off as only sony can do.
It seems there are various differant tech specs on the net, some say NTSC and some have PAL, SECAM, NTSC etc.

Any ideas? Any body bought one?

Cheers Guys

Just wait and buy a PS3, it will serve as a location free base.

but would you leave your PS3 on 24 7. probably not.
The base is designed to be left running and be accessible at any time.

Why not? I leave my PC on all the time. I'm sure Sony's engineers thought of the fact that it has to be on all the time in order to function as a base when they designed it, and therefore took the necessary steps to make it safe. Come on.

fair point, i guess history has just said consoles should not be on 24 7.
So is it a defo that the base will be part of the PS3. Makes a good reason for buying one.
Just wish sony would stop making up there own formats and use industry standards instead. The fact that you have to use LocationFree player sucks.
