2 512mb are smaller than 1gb, because some of that data is used to format the stick. 1gb holds more memory and is cheaper than 2 512mb, also in a couple weeks I predict a huge price drop on both. The Sony 512 pro duo is $59 at Fry's from over $100 last week. |

the most common way to screw up your memory stick is to pull it out when its reading/writing and if you do that you deserve it and when i get my 1 gb duo it wont ever leave the psp, the 1 gb is way more flexible in terms of what you can put on it....

If I could get a 100GB mem stick, I would be dancing in the streets. Yes, I am willing to risk losing 100GB of data.....aka my Lumines top scores and some music/movies already have saved on my computer. Do I really have to explain why having a bigger stick is a good thing? Dumb dumb dumb. |

Well, just for the record, I'm not agreeing because of the "safety issues," I'm agreeing because it would help in organization (as said in my above post).

but think about, if u have something thats over $100 in your hands, will you just put it just anywhere? for most logical people they would put it in a place where they know it's safe. also for the most part the memory stick stays in the PSP.
a 1gb memory is alot more convienient then 2 512, and also safer. if you are to switch them all the time. chances are your gonna damage it sooner or later. also I always have a feeling that if you plug and unplug something alot. it will screw it up. though it might not be true |

What is good for one may not be for another, but that doesnt mean it is a stupid idea. I use this idea with my Motif [ Music Workstation]. Example: I have all of my songs saved on my Motifs memory card [Smart Media] for performance on stage. They, the song files, equal up to about 40-50mb. It is important that I have a backup, so to save money I have two 64s vs two 128s. Now when ever I find a great deal on 128s I buy one or two depending on what I can aford at the time, but smaller can play a good roll for me for organizing files on the road. At home, at my workstation, it doesnt matter as much. As a matter of fact, then the more storage, the better. I guess it all depends on how much memory you need more than anything. I always try to have a back up that is equivalent to or more than my user. Now if you can aford as many sticks as you desire and or have no problems with needing backup then it doesnt matter anyway. Just a thought.

i personally like the 1 GB memory stick for a instance what happen if you have a movie file that is converted to 700MB of size, majority of the movies needs to take 500MB-700MB to play a good quality picture on ur PsP and it won't fit on 512MB stick, what u guys with two 512MB does this? put 70% of the movie on one stick and another 30% of the movie on another stick, would it make it easier put the whole movie on a 1GB memory stick that would solve the whole problem.
