Im new
I am actually contacting you for my son. His PSP was new in Aug. last It was a gift from his aunt and they did not keep the reciept. It quit working just 2 days ago He was on line with it because we just got a wireless router He went to play games and now it wont play any disk he puts into it. It will still go on line My question is, what do I do now? Is it the electronic eye? Is there a reset button? Is it a paper weight now? Any advice is welcome |

Well did he do anything between him going online and not being able to play disks?
It shouldn't be a paper weight. If you can still turn it on, it isn't bricked. How long do you wait before it can read disks? Have you tried more than 1 UMD? It usually is because there is a lot of dust on the disks themselves. If the disks are clean, it might be because of the temperature. Just wait for a few minutes and try again. I hope that helped. Good Luck! ![]()

You don't need to waste money on a UMD lens cleaner. If you open the slot, the lens will be visible. If you then carefully clean it with a cotton bud dipped in ethanol then leave it for 10 minutes to dry. I performed this on my PSP about six months ago when it started being funny with certain UMDs (my PSP is now well over a year old) and it worked a treat. If this doesn't work I suspect it will be a little more serious - the lens or lens mechanism might be faulty and this will be a factory repair. It should be free though as the unit is still under warranty.
