Upon first buying my psp I had ver. 1.50 which allowed me to put homebrew games on it. I thought the psp was built to play games from the UMD or from your memory stick. But why is it that Sony is releasing version upgrades that don't allow us to play games from your memory stick anymore?
I have ver. 2.0 now an the selection to play from memory stick is still there even though I can't do anything with it. That is unless I downgrade or find some hack which is illigal. I guess what I'm asking is what games can I download to my psp while still being able to upgrade whenever I feel like it?

Homebrew is still available on V2.0 but the running of isos (which is illegal and not allowed on here anyway) cannot. Check out thread http://www.psp-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=5453 for details and links.

But if I upgrade to 2.6 I'm stuck. There lies the problem. I should be able to upgrade whenever an still be able to play games(not isos) from the memory stick

But if you read the thread I have pointed you to, you will see that limited homebrew is still available on the latest firmware (V2.60) via the GTA method. The problem with this is that you need to own the game. Personally, I would downgrade to V1.5 (also detailed in the thread) if homebrew is that important to you. It's the firmware I still use.

Oops I guess I wasn't reading lol. Still don't like having to use all these work-arounds just to get to my destination. But thanx anyway
