Default Wifi College Hotspot help

I found a wifi hotspot Very close to me but it says the connection is 802.11g not 802.11b like the manual says.

Will my psp be able to connect and if so will i be able to play infrastructure mode properly with it? thanks for any info guys.

G and B wireless networks are compatible with each other.

If you aren't sure then just try connecting. It should work fine.

If it doesnt work then i'd check to see if that hotspot of yours has "unrestricted access". What i mean is that most colleges have firewalls on their hotspots that block out all ports that do not partain to simple web surfing. This is so that they can keep you from using certain applications ie that infringe copyright etc... I attend college myself and there is hotspot access all over campus but u cant use psp for gaming because the online gaming uses a blocked port (tho i still do not know which port psp uses for playing online). Because of this all i can do is surf the net. I have a feeling that this will probably be the case for you. Access to the net but no online play. And if that is the case u can try to use a proxy, but again, your school is blocking ports for all things but web browsing so its most likely that they are paying a tec who is a step ahead of you and has the proxy ports blocked as well. Gluck
