Default Psp White.....

Im new to psp, not had one yet, but iv seen the white Jap versions on ebay, Im wondering if its any good? it comes with v2.5 firmware. can anyone tell me if its worth getting it or the old black one... ops:

i like the black one better, plus its easier to manage and all since its from the us, and im guessing thats were you are. like if you have problems you can call up sony, so id get black. but if you really like white, then no one's stopping you

nope im from the UK, But the JAP version can be changed into english language, But is there any downsides to it? And if there is I will get a black one...

All Japanese PSPs come with the English language installed - you only have to select it in the menus. UMD movies in the UK will work fine on it as both countries are region 2. The two main drawbacks with importing the Japanese PSP are:-

1) The 'O' and 'X' buttons are reversed. However, there are homebrew applications that will reverse this with a quick alteration of the firmware.
2) If something goes wrong with it the warranty is pretty much worthless - Sony UK will refuse to fix it so it will be a paid repair.

As all PSPs now come with the Samsung panels and with a firmware of 2.0 or above, there is no real advantage of importing the console unless you see it a lot cheaper or white is definitely the colour you want - this isn't available in the UK as of yet to my knowledge.
