I am having this connection to the internet problem maybe someone has herd of it and can help me out. I have my USB cable pluged in my PSP from my comp it has a network error, this is what it says:
A connection error has occurred A connection to the acess point could not be established. Check the security setting for the network and try again. I have a connection 1, wireless, and a connection 2 and none of them can get online they all say the same thing. If someone can help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time |

they all say the same thing even when I dont have it plugged in.
when I go to the network setting and go into infrastructure mode it lets me edit I go to WLAN settings and scan it comes up with a: SSID security signal strength linksys_SES_25789 WPA-PSK (TKIP) 100% linksys-g WEP 5% so I choose the top one and goto WLAN Security setting (i am guessing this is where the problem is???) so it is automaticaly on the WPA-PSK (TKIP) so i select it and it goes to WPA key and its blank so when I put somthing in it tells me: the key you have entered is invalid. enter a 64-character key when using hexadecimal, or an 8- to 63-character key when using ASCll characters. same thing with the WEP it needs a key. when I choose none, it gives me that error on the first post in this topic. where do I find these keys? is it in the instruction booklet? so I choose none and this is what the final thing looks like: connection name Connection 1 SSID (stated above) Secutity none IP add auto subnet mask auto default router auto primary DNS auto secondary DNS auto proxy server do not use internet browser do not start (it says this one is recomended and i have done both) so can anyone help me out it would be greatly appreciated thank you |

I don't quite understand what you are talking about? Do you have a wireless modem or router on your computer or are you picking up someone else's signal? If you are, and they have a password set up for it, you cannot access the internet without their password. If it is your signal then you need to enable your WIFI, set up or disable the WPA or WEP key and then you can connect. However, it sounds to me that you know little about how WIFI works (judging by your posts) and I would suggest doing a little research before anything else. Just google WIFI and you should find the info you need.
