"Bricked" means that your psp is of value and entertaining as a brick

.. its when u delete 4 critical parts of your system and then the psp will be blank, you can do absolutely nothing with it, normal;l;y happens when udelete firmware and try upodate and the update stuffs.. theres also a virus that bricks it,. you may aswell update to 2.6 cause there nuthin special about 2.1 , i dont know if you can update to 2.6 with a umd.. if you can use that..probably easier..
