^^im not. id like to see what he has to say. hes just a fan boy who asks him mom to buy his video games. which is probably the reason he (and im assuming) has a DS and NOT a PSP. im pretty sure that the people on here who own both a PSP and DS know wussup.

My post is a direct response to your post, so to the people who don't get my response should refer to the general area of the post in which I was replying to, the numbers should help.

1. No disc read errors, yet. Seems out of context to assume its going to happen to the psp just cause it happened to the ps2. And for the record, disc read errors aren't much of a hassle for me, "oh no, I have to press the restart button, wah!". We are fairly aware of the ps2 problems thanks. I've never had to bring in my ps2 for repairs or had any serious problems with it, same goes for the ps, AND the psp. And just so you know, I am constantly traveling between my mom house and dads house for the weekends, I just pack it up in my backpack. Thats obviously not the most cautious place to put your ps2 and it still runs perfectly. Maybe I'm just lucky.

2. Battery life isn't much of an issue, I am not going cross country or anything, just taking the bus and subway to school everyday. I also play it in between classes or during class, if i'm not playing i'm listening to my music. Thats atleast 2-4 hours of playing and listening to music a day. I'm pretty sure thats an average day for a person (or atleast a student), need for a battery pack? hardly. Overheating seems like a negligible problem since you'd most likely be using it in bursts, probably 2 1/5-3 hours tops.

3. I hardly think that will affect the psp's sales seriously, despite the fact that it couldn't deliver a traditional mgs game, metal gear ac!d is still a top notch game despite its aquired taste in gameplay. And comparing the old mgs game to the new mgs games is hardly fair, the new mgs gameplay is far more complex then simply learning the enemies patrol patterns, it would be hard to even emulate that on a system without dual analog controls or 4 shoulder buttons. Obviously that is the fault of the psp, but that would have comprimised the psp's current design, which was simplicity.

4. Considering everything the psp can do and everything that it can potentially do, its worth its price imo. And your comparing the gba and the ds to the psp, rofl, they are hardly in the same league. The gba is purely for gaming, the ds is more or less the same except with pictochat (wow), but the psp is a multimedia device. I personally think the psp is going to reinvent portable multimedia, its current list of abilities are, games, movies, music, pictures, wi-fi gameplay, online gameplay (certain games), and irc chat. What are in the currently in the works are a web browser, GPS, cellphone, and camera peripherals. That is probably alot more then what people would even think about using.

And what are you basing the battery packs poor value on? the simple fact the 50 dollars is a lot of money? And I'm sure it doesn't cost nickles and dimes to make a li-ion battery.

5. The 32mb card wasn't designed as your media stick it was included so you could save your game.
Having to invest more money for more peripherals on a new device is nothing new, why your pointing that out as a sole flaw of the psp is stupid. Sure you'd have to invest more to get the most out of your psp but did you honestly think it was going to come with a 1gig stick and every other peripheral?
The affects on the battery life when watch a UMD movie and a movie from your memory stick are most likely different, since you'd have to constantly spin the umd in order to watch it. OH AND YES I AM INSANE CAUSE I CAN HOLD A FEATHERWEIGHT DEVICE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF, I ALSO HAVE TO HOLD IT CLOSE TO MY FACE BECAUSE THE SCREEN IS SO TINY!!! ESSPECIALLY COMPARED TO THE DS AND GBA. Your opinion is obviously mirrored by everybody else in the world .

6. ooooo a prediction before the launch of the psp, that sure is reliable.

7. Just because they haven't announced anything else doesn't mean they don't have anything in the works, and its not like they really need anything else announce right now anyways. ONE FF7 product is enough, two is just insane. Also, Squares initial products were on the nintendo, so traditionally those games are being made for a platform that the original fans would most likely be using. Not to mention the fact that the majority of those games were originally 2d, so they'd be easy to emulate.

8. For once I sort of agree with you but your just blowing things out of proportion, contort your hand? You could just move your hand lower or outwards. I don't know how poor your joints are or how big your hand is but your just trying to hate the psp way too hard. And no game stictly uses the the analog pad, I highly doubt anyones holding you at gunpoint to only use the analog.

9. .5 million psps sold on the us launch day, uphill battle indeed.

10. The only other real credible company that you've mentioned was sega, and they were already losing the console wars (we all remember the sega cd and the 32x). While they show similar omens that the psp shows, they hardly deliver what the psp does. And I doubt all of them combined had as much developer support as the psp currently has, cause regardless of how impressive a system is its the developers that make or break a console. Which the psp has plenty of all over the world. And don't think for a second that i've forgotten the supossively revolutionary virtual boy that your precious nintendo released.

11. Constructive criticism from a fanboy? surely you jest!

a. the psp is far from fragile
b. cheap and flimsy look? rofl
c. alot of portable electronics have an open face design, I doubt there are any problems with them. And its not like its the actual lcd screen thats exposed, its covered by a plexiglass (I think) casing.
d. brutal world of a gamer? last time I checked most hardcore gamers rarely leave the house, I know I certainly don't go out much. But when I do its not like i'm rock climbing with the psp hanging on my wrist or "no hands" riding my bike while play with it. Maybe is bizarro world.
e. OH NO A SMUDGE ON MY SCREEN, TIME TO SEND IT IN FOR A REPLACEMENT.

12. trust me, you've written enough. Although I'm sorry about the stones, I have a friend whos going through the same thing.

2 CONTROLLER PORTS??!!?!? THOSE EVIL ****ERS!!!!

creativety doesn't run an industry, consitency does (although its kind of sad that thats how it works). I do however commend nintendo on trying something new, but it seems kind of gimmicky since most of the games use the second screen as a secondary control or a map, hardly as innovation has been delivered on the developers end. The only real game that I find truly fun is WarioWare Touched, but thats probably because I can't stop laughing when I play it, same with MP with my buddies on the GC version.

wow, single store sales testimonials, thats what proves how well something is selling. Like I said before, .5 mil on the us launch day.

The main reason why the nintendo ds sold more then the psp is because there were no more psps to sell! They had to fly them in via heli crane (very expensive btw) just to restock all the stores. But i'm sure you knew that.

1. (UGH AGAIN?) I don't know why you even bothered to repeat yourself with your old post. So let me get this strait... you suggest that sony should use cheaper hardware to counter its hefty cost, yet you bitch about how low quality the psp is, you DID say you weren't a hypocrite right? And they are losing atleast 100 dollars for every psp being sold, and you claim sony is ripping YOU off, please.

2. I'm sure you think your not being biased either  . Actually their warrenty is for 1 year also (forget its from sony or future shop though).

wow, comparing the reading abilities or a cartridge and a cd, whatever flaw the cd has vs a catridge it more then makes up for storage space and cost effectiveness. Cartridges cost more to produce then you think.

Actually I still think you hate the psp and that you are stupid, or your arguments are.

I loved that episode of X-play, Morgan Webb is so hot!!! err...ahem... But I digress... do you honestly believe that a console designer is going to have "well... what if he drops it off his roof? or hits it with a sledge hammer?" on his mind when designing a new console? I'd be a little concerned if he did, its resistence vs a sledge hammer takes a backseat to its performance.

Lumines > Zoo tycoon
Crash team racing? ROFL, Wipeout pure, GT4, and ridge racers is enough for racing fans to buy the PSP
If its that sonic game where you simply rub your stylist across the screen really quickly, I don't think thats much to look forward to.
Although Katamary Damacy is a force to be reckoned with, I wonder what the developer is going to come up with.

Take into account that those are the launch features and games, and its not like he HAD to buy the PSP right away. Sony is releasing a bare psp afterwards, but the packages were mainly for the pre-orders. He took of points for something he could have avoided.

Again you speak as if everyone is symbiotic with your views on video games. No one knows what EVERY gamer wants, its one thing to put it on paper, its quite another to actually make a perfect game.

wee, single reviews, from gamefaqs no less.

What the hell do you mean more then four games? you mean launch titles or many games we own? Cause if you had to buy more games cause you were bored with the other ones thats not a good thing. I've been playing lumines since the launch day and I am still satified.

Wow, you assume much again. Just so you know, I did read your whole post. And nintendo DOES release kiddy games, but I don't understand why you'd be offended, they ARE kiddyish, but that doesn't make them bad.

hmm, your tenacity for stupidity is noted.

Slings and arrows from a fanboy, what else is new.

Time for some of my facts...

According to gamerankings:

The PSP has 9 games with a main score of atleast 70%

While the DS has only 6, despite its supposed innovative system, the games are still fairly lackluster.

The GBA however has 178, but thats hardly a fair comparison considering how long its been out.

I'd post more but my brain has exploded from reading your dribble, maybe later.

ps. how many eye rolls was that?
That was a very poor way to reply and make your system sound better. Most of your info wasn't even true. I can't believe I wasn't banned for this. I'M LITERALLY ASKING! BAN ME!

ok can anyone who owns both (DS and PSP) speak up? well ill say something. i bought the DS at launch w/mario 64. it was tight and all for the first month. after that the only time i played it was in the bathroom. i honostly thought that the DS vs PSP was going to be good. the lack of GOOD games for the DS is what did it for me. i mean come on. like 3 games came out since its launch?! rigoddamndiculous. then ive seen an EB employee who had an imported PSP from japan and it just blew me away. i was sold after seeing it. traded in my DS (still feel a little guilty but hey)+games for some credit. i was also looking into getting an mp3 player. so its like killing 2 birds w/1 stone.

Wow took some time to finish reading his "speech". Quite entertaining. I'm a SONY fan. Most my stuff are from SONY like PS2, PSP, discman,DVD player, TV, notebook, PDA, MD payer,CD ROM and phone.
Everthing seem ok for me cause my stuff last much longer than I expected. Most of them lasted at least 5 years.
Maybe I'm the lucky one cause I don't have any probelms mention.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

I reckon the guy is a Nintendo employee or summat, thats why he's SH*TTIN his pants!

He's only being defensive about the DS cos he feels threatened by the PSP, thats sooooo funny!

THE PSP HAS GOT THE NINTENDO FANBOYS QUAKING IN THEIR BOOTS!!!

Can I make a comparison?? Anyone remember when Matrix 2 broke sales records??? Anyone remember why that was so astonishing??? Its because it was the first time a rated "R" movie has ever broken an attendance record for a weekend. Since the vast majority of people who attend the movies are 18 or under and you have to be 18 or older to watch the movie.

Sony still set records with 1/2 million PSP sales in the first 2 days in North america...even at the hefty cost of 300+ dollars for the PSP and a game.

Had PSP been 150 dollars.......it probably wouldn't have been worth buying.

But lets face it....sales records mean squat.....game ratings are where its at.

At the end of the day who would you rather put your money on succeeding, a company that produced the N64 and Gamecube or a company that produced the PS 1 and PS2?

Click on the link below and read it and weep Nintendo fanboy!
