Default Are all Screen Protectors grainy?

Went and got a screen protector today from BestBuy. I must say, it's pretty neat how it sticks to the PSP without any adhesive. I even washed it with soap and water to get some dust off of it and it still works great.
However, it has a grainy texture to it that I don't like. The plastic is not completely smooth but has a very slight grain to it. It makes the images on the screen look kinda grainy too.
I was just wondering if this is how all screen protectors are or if this brand happens to be like that.

yeah I have a screen protector for my IPaq and for my cell phone neither one is grainy. Haven't tried one for my PSP though I would try a different brand if I were you.

Maybe the grainy texture helps guard it from scratches?

I got Brando Workshop screen protector. It was very easy to apply (at least to me), no grain, covers almost whole face side, practically invisible when screen is on. Though I got couple little hairs under it. They don't really bother me cause they are on the sides of the screen, but I could take plastic off, wash it and reapply. In fact I have another screen protector (there were 2 in the package) - it's smaller - covers only screen area. If washing won't do good I'll apply that one.

I had the same screen protector and had the same problem. I replaced it with the Hori Screen Protector (got the last 2 that ebgames had). It's 100% better. It's so clear you can't even tell it's there. Helps with glare and not very hard to put on either. I've tried 3 or 4 different screen protectors and this is by far the best one. Best $5 I've ever spent.
