An ISO is basically an image of a disk that can be mounted using virtual drives that will trick the PC/PSP/whatever into thinking there is an actual disk there. However they are illegal so asking for help in using them or where to find them will most likely result in a ban. ROMs on the other hand are legal because they tend to be of older games (NES, Master System etc) which are not going to be sold anymore.

Well for the most part I found the original post VERY usefull and I'm sure once I have my PSP, it will make even more sence as I can actually do some experimenting.
My main thing is cars, more specifically imports and I know pretty much all I need to. Give me your import and I can choose and install a complete turbo set up, noooo problem. This tech stuff though, takes a little longer but I'm gettin it. Good thread, thanks  |

Original post is really helpful. Have a few more questions, sorry if their covered elsewhere. I'm thinking of getting a PSP while i'm in america:
1. if you connect to the net is it the full net 2. has anyone had any issues with the electric supply differences 3. what types of video files can a PSP play 4. what memory sticks are used (SD card/special PSP only) 5. can old PS and PS2 games be ripped and put on the PSP (i presume this is legal as i own the games) 6. What versions should i be keeping away from Thanks in advance |

Hello Scoi,
Will do my best to answer your questions and where I fail i hope others will succeed ![]() 1, Yep full net access.... but some sites do not look so good on the PSP and not all of the flash stuff is viewable.... but generally your answer is YES. 2, The powersupply unit takes 110v and 240v (UK) no woprries at all. I take mine to the UK all of the time and just plug in and away I go. The power supply (smill thing) has the input and outputs clearly stated on it. 3, MP4 are the PSP's video format... but take a look in some of the other threads to see what it is now capable of as newer firmware upgrades may have opened up this to other formats... but to my knowledge MP4 is it. (hey gents if someone could confirm this I would appreciate it). 4, Standard cards... you can buy special SONY PSP cards but these are just over priced.... believe some maybe slightly faster but thius speed increase is not something to write home about. As the memory capacity increases the cost of the cards are dropping. Most people are happy with a 512k card but depending on what you are storing on your PSP bigger cards are available. 5, Not sure on the converting issue... legal or otherwise... I do not believe that YOU can convert your old titles. Using 'other' software you can emulate numerous older machines so perhaps what you seek is possible. I suggest you do some reseach on the net for this one. Having said that you are fully aware that any ISO or pirate information is prohibited on this forum. 6, Firmware versions seem to be updated every few months and all seem stable enough. If all you are doing is playing the l;atest games etc then I see no reason to update to the latest version as and when it is released. Each one seems to give a little extra to the PSP but the downside is that if you are into 'homebrew' software then you do not want to upgrade at all. I suggest that you check out the extensive Homebrew section on this forum for the latest developements. I hope my post has answered some of your questions. Des ![]() |
