I'm a bit clueless about wireless and the PSP, so I need a little advice if thats not too much of a problem.
Say I have.. -A PSP -An Xtra Broadband "Adventure" connection -Wired Networking between 2 PC's Will I need just a Router, and The PSP will be able to connect to the internet? Or is there several other components required? Also, will having a wireless router mean that I will have to change both my PC's to wirless, or is there a way i can make only my PSP connected to the router? Thanks in advance. |

The easiest is to get a wireless router. The type you need dependson your broadband connection. If you use ADSL (phone line) connection you will need a ADSL wireless router. If you connect through a cable company, you'l need (imaginativly enough) a cable wireless router.
As for the existing network. Well, that all depends on the type of router you buy. You need one that incorporates a hub or a switch. I use a Linksys router. Here's example of what you need http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...VisitorWrapper Oh yeah. There are different standard 11a 11b and 11g. The PSP will work on 11b and 11g networks (it's actuall 11b but 11g will slow down for it). It's up to you if you get 11b or 11g but buying the faster 11g won't speed up your PSP's connection. whew in short, you need a wireless 802.11b ADSL/cable router with a swtich. |

Cheers Mate.
As far as I know I have ADSL, through the phone line. We've already got a "Hub" I think, with 4 ports. I don't think it has wireless. Would this: http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.sto...ct/View/XH6824 Be the right thing? With ports for wired networking, but Wireless aswell? |

Yep that should be perfect! It has the wired ports for your desktop and the wireless conneciton for the PSP and it uses the correct wireless standard.
The only thing I woulg suggest before you buy. See if you can find the support site for the router and try and download the manual. Some of these routers can be tricky to setup, so see how easy the manual is to read and what their support/FAQ's and forums are like before you buy |
