Default UMD Cases.

I've searched several times for this subject but I couldn't find anything.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed the cases for any UMD starting to come apart? I'm not sure but I think it might be the case that I am using for my PSP. It's one of those ones w/ the belt clip. It has a place to store about 4 UMDs. I actually had to completely take apart my Lumines game to fix it w/ super glue. Don't worry, the game still works fine.

Some of my first UMD cases (I have had Ridge Racers, like my PSP, since January) are now a bit worse for wear. The transparent plastic on the top starts to come away around the edges. This doesn't bode well for how long they will last.

is that from use in the PSP?

Maybe they should get an idea of making new cases to snap the games into?

No, it's just from general use - not inserting into the PSP too often and storing in it's box when not in use.

I didn't say they weren't being used but rather not being overused (ie inserted and ejected 4-5 times a day would be overuse). I use my UMD's no more than they should be designed for but they are still coming apart.

It's like the transparent part of the disk is pushed in towards the disk and away from the white plastic part of the UMD. Right where each part meets. And it appears to happen to both sides of the disk.

That's what's happening to my MGA UMD. I think it might be because of the headphones pushing on it when it's not in the PSP, but at least it works. I hope it comes out cleanly. It shouldn't effect how the game plays... I hope.

In the words of Mobile PC magazine, "The theoretical Xbox Velocity Jettisons the disc caddies of the PSP. Games are included on bare optical disks" (Personally, I think bare optical disks like MD's are better...)
