UMD movies or memory stick you converted yourself.

If the UMD's are a little low, go to the settings menu and find "Video Settings", find the "UMD Video Volume" section and kick it up a notch.

If it's films, YOU'VE converted, check the app you did it with as most will allow you to tweak the volume

There are 2 things, one is (if it's a european PSP), bin the headphones and replace them with a proper set, the sony ones are limited to 90db, which is ver low in most circumstances. Luckiliy it's not your PSP, so just replace the headphones and you're ok. Secondly, if you are playinf a film from UMD there is the option to 'boost' the volume for UMD with a value of +2, which make a fair differnce already. My advise is, if you have an iPod, use the headphones of these, they are very good quality and the volume is at least 50% higher than the sony ones.

Agreed. If you want decent sound while watching movies then a good quality pair of headphones is a good idea.

These are excellent. Sony MDR-V700.
