512 Memory Card - PSP-Forum.com

I just put my new 512mb memory card in my Jap PSP and formatted it and its only 468 mb is this a normal loss of megs, anyone else encounter this?
The 32 mb that came with the unit also after formating was only 30 mb. :x

Partition and formatting tables. The same thing occurs when you re-format your hard drive. My 1GB stick has 940MB of free space.

I know that you would lose some memory for Partition Stuff but I just thought it was a lot to lose :?

itz the right space
when they say 512mb, they ment as in 512000kb
u divide that by 1024 you will get 500mb, plus it is IMMPOSIBLE for anything to the exact amount due to partitioning, so it will turn out to be 468mb, my 200gb HD have only 186gb of space, try formating it a few times, maybe you can squeeze in 1-2mb
