Default How do I remove the battery?

Ok, Batteries in, been working for hours no problem
Some kind fellow tells me I can get a free spiderman 2 UMD from Sony, just need my Serial number and Model Number which are under the battery.
So I open the cover and try and remove it and it is not moving.

Is there a catch or something?

It's not broke, as the PSP is working fine but as I only got it today I don't really want to try brute force and ignorance and just pull at it
Any help greatly appreciated.
