Default Connection problems

I'm having trouble with connecting my PSP. When I connect it to my PC by USB cable the drive comes up 'Memory Stick (F but when I click on to this to open it I get the following message...Please insert disk into memory stick (F. I'd like to know what this means and how I can sort it so I can access my PSP on my PC. Thanks in advance.
