Default Corrupted Data when trying to add MP3??

When I try to play certain MP3s I get corrupted data icon...It doesn't happen to all the song only a few...They all came from original cd's (which I already own legally) and it picks and chooses which ones it wants to play or not...This makes no sense to me as like I already said I ripped them directly from the original cds.

I searches already for any related threads and have not come up with a satisfactory answer...Any help is greatly appreciated.

OBTW...My memory card is supported as I bought it from a store not ebay.

Try a different ripping program, i have a couple of corrupted ones that work fine in windows but the psp is quite picky about the validity of the data and will call it corrupt if one byte is out of place

Default ripping cd to mp3 for psp

Hi mate,
Have you tried enabling WMA play back, you'll find it under system settings on psp. This should let you play back music stored by windows media player. You need to connect wirelessly to the internet to enable this function!!!!
Hope you get it sorted

Windows media player can interfere with the music, and even transfer stuff auto - best to keep WMP closed

If you have ripped music, then its possible that the program you used to rip it isnt doing it properly, try a different one and see how that goes
I have a question - Do "other" mp3 files work fine?

The system can play WMA, but its best to stay away from this junk format, which is basically MP3 under license from Microsoft. Stay clear

Its understandable why you got confused. Hope this post clears it up
  1. Make sure the files are in the correct folder (If its corrupted and show the files then it probably is, but check anyway
  2. Try another ripping program - its possible they were corrupted during the creation process - Do these files play perfectly in windows? If so it doesnt neccesarliy mean they will on the PSP. SO try another program. Download.com has a a few free ones which have always worked well for me.
