New to PSP

just got the final fantasy psp for my birthday! im going out to new york in the new couple of days and wondering if i buy a game there will it work on mine? the umd stuff confuses me!

I take it yr psp is uk region 2?? If it is then games from all regions will play fine, so get shoppin in the US..Also umd movies marked wiv the ALL symbol will work no problem. Just don't buy anything marked region 1 as they won't play!! But saying that I imported 2 umd's from america both region 1 and they play fine in my uk psp. Take yr psp wiv ya, see if you can try before you buy!!!!

I too have games marked Region 1 and they work fine on my UK PSP

its says on the write up in the book (yes i actually read the instructions) that it will work on umd 2 4 and all

UMD GAmes have no region codes. They work on ALL consoles.

The movies however only work with a psp of the region from which you bought it. UNLESS you have Custom Firmware and can use the fake region coding.

Check out the GameStop on 3rd street and Broadway in Manhattan. That's where I picked up GTA: Vice City Stories.
