Hi,
I have a 6 month old psp slim, everything was perfect till yesterday. The battery completely drained out and then when I charged it, its showing max 28%, and after that the charging led glows off ! When I go to the system menu, battery level sub menu, it shows charge level 28% Hours left - Power Source Battery Battery Status In Use Please tell me what should I do ? thanks |

Glows off??? you mean it glows red hot?????
Sorry need more information really. So you used it until it was flat (no juice)... nothing wrong with that. You did not touch the battery and just plugged the psp into the mains to charge up the battery.... You then checked the status of the battery to find that the status was only 28%... You then took the battery out to discover that one of the pins on the battery connector was glowing??? what about the pins inside the battery compartment of the psp???? if glowing red hot I would suggest you look for melted case on both psp and battery.... If you can confirm the above cool otherwise take it back to the store you bought it from as it is not that old. Des ![]() |

Id suggest letting the battery drain completely, just leave your psp on with a game running, or music on repeat for example.
Then wait until the psp just dosent turn on, then once that happens, stick the charger in and leave it for 3 - 4 hours, check after that see what the percentage is. Some batteries loose their memories in terms of juice left, draining them restores this, thats what i have heard anyways, worth a try. Kev ![]() |

Dude, I am sorry that I didn't include much information, but nothing is on fire and nothing is heating up (except me) So, I think I will let it run to 0 so that the psp woun't start anymore and then charge it back. The battery is the main problem, perhaps its memory is damaged or something. Letting it drain out completely and then charging it back may .. resolve the issue I think. I would let you know once I have seen something new, until then keep the comments coming .. thanks to you all sanjay |

Yeah i remember reading something about batteries losing some of their charge space then getting it back because they had none left... Kevs idea should work.. If not the first time... Try it a second.
