Default sleep or turn off?

just wondering which is better for the unit? turning the psp off or putting it into sleep mode? i always thought just by pushing the switch up would turn it off but you have to hold it for ~2 secs before it does that otherwise you are just enabling sleep. but lately after i read the english manual (i only had the japanese manual) i realised this.

If you want to resume what you are currently doing you need to put it into sleep (a quick push up) but this will consume battery power. If you don't need to resume then turn it off with a 2-4 second push up. As for which is better, I would say powering it off but it's not something I do myself.

sleep is more than fine, even for days at a time. I never turn mine off fully. Sometimes I'll leave mine on sleep for like 2 days, I turn it back on, and it's lost zero battery power. So it's really not something to worry about.

Yes, it depletes power, but at a slower rate, since it isn't using all of it's resources.
