In the Bronx, NY, where I live, there seems to be at least one free wireless signal on whatever street you go, and even inside most buildings. WEP protection can only be bypassed if you know the password. You can key it in in your PSP. Most Wireless-G routers are backwards-compatible w/ Wireless-B. They usually say so on the box. I've connected to the internet successfully various times on my PSP and have played Ridge Racer with a friend successfully too. I heard that there is supposed to be an update today, so when I go outside, I'll try to download it. I won't buy my own wireless router until I hear of people actually playing PSP online. I have yet to see this. By the way, if you want to buy a wireless router, you need to either have a Cable or DSL modem.
Also, usually, the best Network Setup is going Automatic instead of Custom after selecting a connection, unless of course you have your own specific settings. |
