802.11b is the oldest (yet still good enough for today's average connections), and WiFi is backwards compatible, so that's not the problem

hello
I'm not sure on the .11g compatibility with the .11b PSP, but they are known to be backwards compatible (as said before). I have a PSP and setting up a connection is incredibly easy. As for WEP key, the same applies. The PSP scans all the signals in your area, telling you whether they are WEP protected or not. If they are, and you know the WEP key, you simply tel the PSP the connection is WEP protected (a dropdownload list varying from 'none' to 'WEP' in which case the next screen will ask you to input your WEP key. I have a wired network but i tried connecting to a wireless network at my uni, which doesnt have a WEP. However, i keep on getting the same error no matter where i am, "An error occured. The access point was not detected"...beats me?!
