help please: psp not turning on no green light just red light

one day my psp didnt turn on when i plug it in the red light comes on when i slide the power button up it wont turn on no matter how long i hold it the green light wont even come on this happens when the psp battery is in, when i take the psp battery out, and plug back in the psp cord the red light blinks every 1-2 seconds but still will not turn on, my 6yr old was the last one playing on it i think he couldve wet it when i asked him what happened he looked guilty is this water damage or an easier problem it has custom firmware so could this be bricked

Try holding the right trigger when turning the psp on (battery or not)

If nothing happens then ummmm, try to find out if water did get into it.
