i have a 4GB memory card and have been told that if formatted on a pc it will not work again on my psp is this true?

well i have formatted it on my pc but as soon as its nearly finished it says it can't complete the formatting, why is this, my psp won't do it either but it know that it is there

It should work as I formatted mine on the computer.

Where did you buy the MS from and what brand is it?
