My PSP Site, Any Pointers?

I am not posting my site link simply because that is adverting and I don't want this topic locked but...


My site is about 2 months old and has only 4 members.
I have video tutorials and mods etc. I'm trying to make the community bigger but I have no idea how to get people to the site, so far I've been individually asking people on youtube to join and that is not going well. Can you guys help me get this site going?

Enroll your site to google.com engine for starters.

Then throw few random pms around few psp forums inviting active members. Maybe even make a competition on your site?? wallpaper design or something psp related with prize which is like crystal case for psp??

Might cost few buks but will increase your traffic and then word will spread.

Also include the link in your sig on other forums etc, how long is the piece of string?

I was planning to give away a free psp as a prize but cannot yet afford it. Although I still plan to do it.

You don't need to save "funds" because if it takes you such long time, that means its way too pricey and you make people almost feel sorry for you, as once they win they will take away your weeks of savings.

I told you, run simple, key work "simple" comps, and who ever wins gets a "simple" prize that is easy to obtain and will keep everyone happy.
For example, go to ebay punch in psp and look around how many great things your low budget can take.

Even if its a game (new or used) or a little package like a screen protector, strap and pouch (full package with postage is under 10 bucks these days).

Now, i see your site is of great layout, looks clean, easy to use and professional which is GREAT! The mods/tutorials section is looking pretty empty with a couple of mods/tutorials... heres an idea maybe in your comp you run, your task for users will be who ever makes most useful tutorial will win a prize, and second best will get a smaller prize? (just an idea)

Your forum is also looking very well sorted out, good sections with interesting bits of information, so this sections is thumbs up.

Also on your main homepage i see you have "your link here" section, where i assume you will put mini banners to sites??? Start with google, go through all the psp sites/forums and contact their owners/admins/mods whoever holds the control, ask them for a banner exchange program, if they agree great you place their on your site and they do same for you, bringing you traffic and making your site look bit more respected as you will be in the ring with the big respected sites.

Once again, enroll to google, you wont believe how much traffic that gets you!

Maybe invest in some cheaply made stickers with your site addy?? Put few on your friends cars windows, give few away through maybe those same comps you're running??

So basically you need to think, its not that hard. And im saying this like i know it all why you may ask? Because i went through it all like you did, now i run two automotive forums. One holds 4500 members and other newer one only 1400
