Default Help - Problem with 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo

I have a Japanese PSP, i bought a 1gb memory stick PRO duo. When i insert this into the PSP it doesn't recognise the stick and the memory stick read light flashes intermittantly.

When i put the stick into my card reader on the PC it works fine.

The stick had never before been formatted when i inserted into the PSP.

Any suggestions to the problem? The 32MB stick supplied works fine.

Have you formatted it from the PSP menu? What brand is it?
