Default PSP Cannot Access Memory Stick

I was playing a game the other day and I saved my game. Not more than thirty seconds later, I went to save again and my system said that my memory stick cannot be accessed. I went back to the home screen, which says that there is space taken up in the Memory Stick but it does not show that anything is there, ex... no saved data utility. Anyone have any idea how to fix this because I didn't know where to start.

Where did you get the memory stick from? It might be a fake.

I got the stick in the package with the original system. It was the whole starter accessory deal with the case, stick, and system. I've had it for two years and it hasn't done this to me yet. Anyone know how to get the data back?

I would hook it up to a PC and check if your files are viewable on there. If they are, you should make a backup of all of them and reformat your memory stick with the PSP, then just recopy them. Hopefully this should solve your problem.

I tried to see if the contents were viewable a second ago because I wanted to do what you said there, but it says my folder is empty, but it also recognizes that there is space being taken up. It's all very strange.

It seems to me like your only option is to just bite the bullet and reformat your stick. I know it sucks to lose all your files, but sometimes that's just how technology is.
