Coz I'm waiting for the crisis core and while waiting, I planned on playing Ps games on my PSP but some people said I have to downgrade/upgrade it... Will this process wreck my PSP in some way???

If you want to play emulators then you have to downgrade, not upgrade. If you follow the instructions well i'm sure you will have no problem.

downgrading to FW 1.50 then upgrading to a CFW is what you need to do, now if you use Pandora Battery and Magic Mem Stick you have a success rate of about 99.999%. There is always a possibility something will go wrong. However, a bricked PSP can be fixed, it just takes a little work and patience.
