Unhappy Faulty memory card reader?

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and the world of PSP. I bought my PSP Slim from eBay as an import with pre-loaded with custom firmware 3.71 M33. It was fine for about 2 days before the games would start to freeze and the device would randomly stop seeing the memory card....

To answer the usual questions...

Yes the memory card was a fake..
I purchased another 8gb card from ebay - this worked well for about a week, but again, certain games would occasionly freeze (within a few minutes) or the PSP would stop seeing the memory card and you would either need to reseat it or reset the PSP. Checking the info on the card, I noticed the "Magicgate" was unsupported... I tried an orginal Sandisk card and the PSP wouldnt see it at all, same with a Lexor Premium which I got from PC World as PSP compatible... By this time I was fed up. Went to the Sony store and spent a wad on a genuine Sony 4gb, which was worse than the 8gb card. Now my PSP wont see any of the cards. Just flashes...

COuld this be firmware? or faulty memory card reader?

The ebay seller isnt responding to any of my emails so im stuck with a lemon which I will need to pay to get fixed.

Sounds to me like you got ripped off. Thats probably why they were selling it. File a complaint with PayPal, if thats what you used as your payment method.
