Are these things actually any use?

I think they are.

I dont care to much for the silicone psp protector, but the rest of the stuff does serve a purpose.

The silicon rubber case was specifically designed not to protect the PSP from blunt force trauma but rather scratches... I had my PSP lite with a smashed in screen in a protector similar to this
PSP Pouch and Wrist Strap by Sony Computer Entertainment for Sony PSP
because someone at school kneed me in the pocket were my PSP was therefor I think that protector cases should only be made of HARD plastic or metal with cusioning inside. As for screen protectors I don't use them but they could be a big help.

Hey, thanks a lot for the replies. Perhaps I'll get one of those sets as they're so cheap then

and I'll remember not to carry my PSP in my pocket / socialise with anyone who might knee me

Screen protectors do a world of good for only $4.95 for a pack of three over here
