Default psp won't recognize battery at all

Hi, my PSP won't boot up at all and won't recognize or charge the battery at all. The only way i can boot up the PSP is by directly connecting it to the charger, but when looking at system information, my battery is being powered by an "external source". There is no indication that there is a battery in the PSP at all.

I was wondering if anybody knows what to do and if anyone has had the same situation as me. Help please.

Thanks,
George

Default Battery Problem.

How long have you had your psp?

have you tried a different battery?

have you tried a different charger?

Is your Wlan switch off while your charging.?

Try changing to a different outlet to charge your psp.

Its possible that your battery is completly dead?

Possibly a Bad Charger or power surge.

Default

I had this same exact issue a while back, I fixed it by going to Wal-mart and buying a new battery. Over time the battery just slowly dies till it will eventually not take a charge anymore. Just need to buy a new one.

I have heard you can stick a piece of wire into the connectors on the battery itslef to kind of jump start it in the event the battery just got stuck, which can happen if dropped. Just make sure the wire is in the left and the right slot not in all 3 slots. This shorts the battery, and can ruin it, but if its not being recognized or anything anymore what do you have to lose? Here is a guide to do it if you want to read more into before doing it.... MAXCONSOLE - Playstation 2 Playstation 3 Xbox 360 Nintendo DS PSP Gamecube Nintendo WII Revolution - To the MAX!
