Default flashplayer update ?

Hi
first post.
I had new lite slim fpr crimmbo from the wife.
all working fine, got it connected to the web etc.
I can view normal flsh stuff, but i tried to view some stuff on youtube, it said that eithet i didnt have javea enabld (which it says is on in the settings)
or I have an old version of flashplayer ?
not knowing anyhting about the psp, is there a way to update this, if so, how ?...or cant you view youtube stuff ??

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The flash player on the PSP is flash 6 and the flash player used by youtube is flash 8/9. There have been no plans from Sony regarding updating the flash player but who knows, in the future we might get an upgrade.

If you flash your psp (make it homebrew friendly), you can add an app called PSPTube. Not sure how well it works on the slim or newer custom firmware versions, but it works like a charm on my PSP with custom firmware.

is only for one offs, I will just have to find freeware to d/l the clip and convert it.

There have been rumors for the PSP planning to release either Flash Player 9 or Flash Lite 3, which both support YouTube videos. See my post on this here:

I think that's the best option, download and convert to mp4. I know a good site which u can use to do it for free without downloading any software:
