Default D-pad or stick problems help please

Long story, short. i traded my psp for my friend's psp and it works fine. The problem is when i play a game the character keeps running to the right as if i'm holding down the right key or it goes crazy at the menu screen. I unscrew everything to keep it out cause my friend said that was the problem. I dont think it was. Help me out here

Default Broken directional pad / analog stick.

This use to happen to me also.

Take it to a gameshop and have it cleaned for about 60 bucks .

You can also do it yourself for free
.

Just take it apart carefully, take out the analog stick clean it good.
and put it back in. (note when you put it back in dont put back in the black washer leave it out.)

9 times out of 10. Its just debry stuck inside the psp that makes the Analog stick go nuts.

If you decide to do it yourself, be careful the case screws are very easy to strip. I have the same problem with my PSP, but i wont open mine again, thats what made my stick screwey to begin with.
