I've been online and heard all kinds of people wanting to play an mmorpg on the psp but could not find one! So.........

I am making a psp mmorpg game.

It will be built in php with a mysql backend, No download will be required, simply signup/login and play.

Once I get the basic details hammered out I'll need people to help test/debug/and build the world that we will play the game in.

What do you think of this idea?
Note: There will be quite a few images although very small I need to know what the risk of a memory error occurring are. (Not to mention a lightweight chat)

If you build it they will come......lol..... hahaha, couldnt resist that sorry, but seriously if you do this I volunteer to be a beta tester for you, I have a lot of experience playing MMORPG, I use to play Everquest 1 & 2, then I moved on to World of Warcraft, and I got so into that it almost ruined my marriage.

So needless to say I am having withdraws from a good MMORPG Game!

Well it wont be as cool as WoW but it will be nice. Were limited to php but php in itself is very very powerful.

I look forward to playing it. What sort of genre are you thinking of going with, SCI-FI, Fantasy or what?

I'm having some major issues with size.... and controls

I'm working on a javascript that should let you use your directional keys on the psp to control you character. I think the directional keys are setup the same as the ones on a computer if not that wont work.

Making it fit the screen in a huge issue as nobody wants to scroll all over the place.

Suggestions let me know

I could easily get a text based rpg out there but those suck ya kno?
I'm working as hard as I can to provide this rpg, it's nice it just does not work on the psp just yet. and I need to build a bigger world for it. Once I solve the two problems I can get the beta online and have some people build the world.

Im a sorta starting out programmer so seeing your code would be cool, also, i think you might be underestimating the size of the task your taking on here.

I'm at work, when I get home I'll post the code....

I'm sure i might be underestimating what is at hand simple because as of this moment i dont own a psp. So its hard for me to understand what I should expect. but no matter how hard the task I've always managed to make something work, maybe not as the original plan but I always get to see what I envisioned in my head in the real world. It's just a matter of how badly I want it. and seeing as there are no others I really want to be the first so I'll push until I make it work.
